Ingredients

  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 3 cups of Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups of Wheat Chex cereal
  • 1 cup of mixed nuts
  • 1 cup of small pretzels
  • 1 cup bagel chips broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low temperature ensures your Chex Mix bakes evenly without burning.
  • Prepare the mix: In a large bowl, combine the corn chex, rice chex, wheat chex, mixed nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips. Toss everything together gently to mix.
  • Make the seasoning: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  • Season the Chex Mix: Gradually pour the butter mixture over the Chex Mix, stirring as you go to evenly coat all the pieces. Make sure to lightly coat each piece with the seasoning mix.
  • Bake the Chex Mix: On a large, ungreased baking sheet, spread the seasoned Chex Mix evenly. Place the sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking and avoid clumping.
  • Cool and Serve: Once the Chex Mix is golden brown and crisp, remove it from the oven. Allow it to cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, transfer the mix to an airtight container or serve immediately.
  • Enjoy: Your homemade oven-baked Chex Mix is now ready to enjoy! Serve it at parties as a snack, or package it as a homemade gift.

Notes

Add a little cayenne pepper and boost the Worcestershire sauce for a strong taste.
To create a cheesy variation, toss grated parmesan cheese over Chex Mix before baking.
Add a spoonful of brown sugar to the seasoning combination for a sweet and salty twist, and cut the seasoned salt in half.
