Ingredients

  • 500 g minced chicken
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Breadcrumbs optional, for texture
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Cheese slices optional
  • Your favorite sauces mayonnaise, ketchup, BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the minced chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Add Binding Agent: Pour in the beaten egg and mix again. If desired, add breadcrumbs for extra texture.
  • Shape Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, aiming for a thickness of about 1.5 cm.
  • Chill the Patties: Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
  • Preheat Cooking Surface: Heat your grill or frying pan over medium heat. If using a frying pan, add a little oil to prevent sticking.
  • Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the grill or in the pan. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  • Add Cheese: If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
  • Toast the Buns: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.
  • Assemble the Burgers: Start with the bottom bun, add a lettuce leaf, followed by the chicken patty, tomato slices, and any additional toppings you desire. Drizzle your favorite sauce on top and finish with the top bun.
  • Serve: Serve your chicken burgers hot with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
