Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded Romano cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente (about 7-8 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk and heavy cream, stirring occasionally. Once the mixture is hot but not boiling, slowly add in the cheeses, stirring constantly until smooth and melted.
  • Combine: Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce, making sure each piece is thoroughly coated with the cheesy goodness.
  • Bake (Optional): For that classic Chick-fil-A texture, transfer the mac and cheese into a greased baking dish. Broil in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Season: Add salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.
